Thousand photos, one word…Haiti. – by Paul Sherar

Based in Boone, NC, Paul Sherar is an humanitarian photographer working for an international relief organization Samaritan’s Purse and recently visited the earthquake-ravaged Haiti .

Now back from Haiti, half wishing I was still there, half glad to be home.  When I’m traveling sometimes it’s easy for me to get connected to people in particular and places especially.  It’s a tearing sensation when I leave, and I think that’s why I’m so bad at goodbye’s.  In the little grey cube I call ‘office’ I’ll flip through the photos and am reminded of moments, simple or complex, that bring me back to where I just was if only for a flash.
